DIPIKA-JOSHNA LOSE GOLD MEDAL. Silver was already ensured when they entered final. 'win silver' gives the impression that they won the match played for silver medal!!!
Whats the use of being ranked no. 1 in world if can't even win gold in such low competition. One player of some rank and he smashed him out. Indians always falter in big matches. Flatter to deceive. Mental strength is half the players from other countries. Its okay if that happens once or twice but with our players its pretty consistent.

Don't underestimate Lee Chong, he has been a magnificent player regularly winning Olympics medals and beaten only by Chinese there. Don't get carried away ranking, badminton rankings are reviewed every week for adjusting most recent performance of players. Players can come down very quickly if consistency not maintained. K Srikanth will not win any medal in Asian Games 2018, I assure you!!

That I know Indian player are mentally not made for big occasion. Quite obvious from Saina and sindu match. since india as assured of gold and silver both Saina was roaring and shouting like anything. But if the match would have been against chinese girl or her favourite nemise Marin Sanchez she appear like cow with zero aggression.

There is no player of note called Marin Sanchez. I presume you mean Carolina Marin of Spain. But as a matter of fact Saina's nemesis in the past couple of years has been Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan, the world no. 1 to whom she has lost several times without winning in the recent past. But Saina is in the resurgent phase now post her injury and should be encouraged for her sterling performance at CWG 18.

Lee Chong Wei is no ordinary player even if going downhill now due to advancing age. Srikanth definitely has a bright chance of winning the gold in Asian Games.

Hang on!! Ranking doesn't always give you a correct picture!! Also, he spent only a week as world number 1, where as LCW was number 1 for almost 199 consecutive weeks!! On your comment, "low competition", Kidambi won bigger tournaments like Indonesia Open, French Open etc , where he defeated Chen longs, Axel sons etc. So look at the larger picture!! Still long way to go for Kidambi!!
Coming to why Indians are not mentally strong, that's a separate thread, its do with our up bringing and society etc. This is a topic for another day!!
