Vikas Krishan, Rajput, Vinesh and javelin winner Chopra are class atheletes but others will struggle in Asian Games 2018
Great...finally the encouragement given to sports persons rather than bureaucracy - by this NaMo Govt with Rajyvardhan Singh as Sports Minister - is starting to yield great results.

I am waiting for Asian games 2018, commonwealth is a group of weaklings (except Eng, Aus & Ind) of World of sports !!!
Its great show by India. Lets see what happens in Asian games now. Most of the gold which we won will be snatched by China, South Korea, Japan in Asiad. Badminton, TT will blank out. Saina is still struggling. Even again weak opponent she let 11-3 lead and then 15-10 lead go away and lost 21-18. Our best hope is shooting and wrestling and to some extent boxing. So lets not get carried away and expect something similar in asian game what to talk of Olympic. In olmypic to get double digit gold medal is still very distinct dream.

you are right and that's because 96% of the countries of commonwealth are awfully weak in sports, so much so that number events played in commonwealth is also much lesser that Olympics and Asiad. You must have noted that Archery and Tennis have also been omitted from commonwealth list!!!
we are all very proud and demand much more from our athletes and sports persons. Great to see Indian flag flying and national anthem bein sung with such furvour in distant lands. But our Media as always is wanting - for them sports starts at Cricket and ends at Cricket. Such positive news for last few days and yet media flays only negatives. Hurray for our athletes and sports persons. wish government will continue to be generous and sypmpathetic.

why do we start demanding prize? FYI, in these games standard is far below even Asian games. Now we have professional league for badminton, soccer, hockey and kabaddi. And more such league should come even for shooting, TT, wrestling, boxing, atheletics etc. That will serve two purpose: 1) players can have earning from these leagues, 2) They will become more professional. Just playing 5-6 tournament in 4 years is heavy pressure to perform. Hence just giving money make no sense.

BTW I have not seen in other countries govt rewarding money for medals. We want all special treatments in India. Reservation, prizes, free laptops.

I assure you 90% of these medalists will be vaporized by the heat of competition in Olympics!!
