Our boys and girls, men and women make us feel good watching sports events of late. There were times, radios were turned off the moments Gavaskar got out or Vijay Amritraj lost the first set !
Both the women and non-women (as a friend calls us:), are winning now, not just crossing first round or semis, which were in themselves events. More women playing than ever before, but men winning titles too.
While we must do everything to encourage the girls and women, we must encourage the boys and men too, it isn't about just cricket. We don't see the media doing the same gig when Shrikanth wins - why hold back?

Oldies must retire or play like Federer. We tend to write off people the moment they cross 25 - they should have been married and start production !
Takes time for some communities and those less educated, to realize that there is more life than procreation - sports recreation for example :) Let others play, even if you didn't
