What's the need?

I don't understand what was the need to go overboard in bestowing her with so many tributes. Cash and other awards is fine, but this is really unfair. We have students struggling for years to qualify for the Civil Services, and here the government is calmly giving her a Class 1 post.
I am not against Sindhu. She probably deserves every accolade, but the government should give her something that will not entail any additional expenditure on the exchequer. The only thing she will be doing is taking the salary and avail other perks without ever visiting office, while millions suffer otherwise.
As Piers Morgan rightly said, "Why is India going gaga in celebrating 3 losses in the Olympics?" The least Sindhu can do is to refuse all the emoluments and perks and truly work for the upliftment of sports in the state and country. Only then would she be worthy of the service.

As she had Zeal /interest to be a player , she got trained and good efforts, grace she won the medal , replies Both the blind Govts. offered life time worth of goods, money etc., these are sufficient .Offering a Govt Job is very foolishness, instead better make Govt.GOs , for the Children of Soliders ,polices, who offered their life for the sake of Country, they are real needy, and for them no body will make a small bill or rules It is India--
