Plenty of doubt
by Michael on Mar 21, 2017 06:32 PM

No. of weeks at no.1, no. of any particular masters titles , etc are not criteria. It is an open debate who is the GOAT.

Federer with 18 GS titles, 302 weeks as #1, 6 atp world tour finals titles... which are all world records is clearly the greatest.

The top 5 greatest players as per their records...

1. Roger Federer
2. Pete Sampras
3. Novak Djokovic
4. Rod Laver
5. Rafael Nadal

If this list is not accepted then any search for the GOAT in any other list in the internet can be referred. Its universally accepted that Federer is the greatest.

There is no such official list. It is your wet dream, which has no official or popular standing. All you can do it stuff that list up.

Great performance

Quite a comeback by Federer, to win both AO and Indian Wells, that too beating Nadal twice. Agreed the exits of Djoko and Murray made things easier for him, but good show none the less. He is certainly one of the all time greats. The debate of whether he is the GOAT will always be open, but he is surely one among them.

The greatest

Federer only has points to gain this season, since he didn't play half the season last year... his ranking will even rise further and I see him getting back to No.1 by the end of this year. The racket change and Ljubicic as the coach has definitely brought a fresh feel to his game.
When he retires which should not happen for the next 3 years... as he has committed to play in Basel until 2019.. he will be regarded as the greatest of all-time (GOAT) in tennis, without any doubt.

Even after he retires, and supposing he adds to his slam tally, he will still not be the GOAT in tennis . There is plenty of doubt , and many claimants to that title. We should enjoy the game and the legends of different eras, instead of blabbering arguments which are not backed up by facts.Simple fact is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to compare people who played in different eras against different opponents and on different surfaces. Case closed!!!

Clone, you can deny the fact that Federer is not the GOAT, but I'm happy to go with what the majority think... well, one can surely compare different players of different eras even if they haven't face each other... because they have left behind their records to the whole world to see... The numerous world records that Federer holds make him the GOAT with out any doubt.

Clone, you dont even have a majority agreeing with your warped ideas. Stop deluding yourself, take your pink Ritalin pill and sleep.

I know its very difficult times for you... soon you will not have a place to hide your excrement smeared face... For all those claiming Fede won in a weak era.. he has shown what he can win against any one anytime..

Federer win Indian Wells masters title
by Michael on Mar 20, 2017 01:11 PM

Its was simply superb... beating Nadal and going on to win the title is extra special, particularly against a top 5 player in the final... With Fede doing a Connors and should he play until 40, he will even break Connors records of most career wins... But the difference between them is that Connors won against low ranked players, but Fede leads the list with most wins against top 10 ranked players.
