To complete the IW-Miami double for the 3rd time in his career Fede has shown his greatness.. Now he deserves a much needed rest and that too particularly by avoiding playing on clay... But as he said he should be back for French open.. I hope he plays atleast one masters on clay to get the practice and also gain important points to become No.1 ranked again.

Yes he should take some rest. He was a point away from losing, twice in this tournament. Longer it goes, more his chances of tiring out.
Fede now leads Nadal on hard courts 10-9 and on grass 2-1... He only trails Nadal on clay 2-13... because of utter dominance on clay Nadal has the over-all records in his favor... but, when seen in detail, it clearly shows Nadal is only clay court specialist who happened to win a handful of tiles on other courts. This makes Nadal the king of clay, but Fede is the king of HC and grass.

It also shows Federer is a novice on clay, who happened to chance upon a fluke win at Roland Garros when the King of Clay was away. Precisely the reason why he cannot claim to be GOAT. Forget handful, he has next to nothing on clay.

King of Clay was away... good joke... In 2009, RG, Nadal was beaten fair and square by Soderling ... Fede then beat Soderling in the final... If Nadal fail to show his face in the 2009 final, then whose fault it is..? If Nadal hadn't played in the tournament, then its different. I'm sure Fede will beat Nadal this time if they meet in RG.
