It is highly gratifying that Thangavelu has come up with Gold .So we can at least claim that we have won all types of medals in Rio .This should spur 1) the govt ,states and individuals to give appropriate money packets like they did for normal medal winners . 2) The govt should consider giving Khel Ratna even though delayed or in next year.But by then they will be forgotten. 3) they should be taken for endorsement & employments by Corporate sector for their achievements as many of them are from poorer sections of society. 4) Their sports facilities must be improved .
CAN WE SAY THAT PARAOLYMPIANS HAVE REALLY DONE INDIA PROUD?
Hearty Congratulations to Mr. Mariappan and Mr. Varun Bhati.Great are their feats and deserve much more appreciation, motivation and monetary assistance.It is not easy for getting such achievements from a remote village corner of India.

Now we can expect many great leaders to shower gifts on the winners, though the government never supported these superb athletes by offering them required support, coaching and infrastructure. Now everyone will offer gifts to show how generous they are.

you're right, SANTA,that is typical of colonial congress culture ....steal attention after an artist, sportsperson, musician , scientist , etc., has achieved some distinction.....the objective used to be to draw political mileage. The situation is now being corrected with an alert media taking on the present government, which fortunately is receptive to people's participation in govt's policy decisions in an open-door and transparent governance led by the nationalist RSS-BJP fully homegrown political outfit.
