Doping in sports

As explained Meldonium is a medicine to save one from many illnesses, it is thus can not be considered merely a doping drug, testing people must consider the reality behind its consumption by the individual. The way sports persons are being treated by testing teams is inhuman. Nobody wants to die early in young age.

It is perfect to introduce drugs which enhances the performance but each sports person should be asked to declare whether such drug was taken by them and a period of overlap should be allowed. If she has been taking it from the year 2006 may be genuinely for health reason or with the intention to promote the performance why declaration is not sought from all the athletes and sports personalities of medicines used by them and if any medicine is found to be banned drug they should be instead of suspension should be put through period of notice so that they are also given an opportunity to stop the banned drug and then participate in the sports. I can tell you most of the sports person should be consuming some medicines to enhance the performance and many may go unnoticed. THe best thing is to get a declaration and anything contrary found should be punished

If you read the other articles on the subject, you would realize that the world governing body did inform the list of new drugs that were to be banned from Jan 1st and Maria overlooked it and continue to take the same medicines, however genuine her medical conditions are And she had admitted that it was an error from her side. So no point in arguing. Considering her case, she might end up with a shorter suspension.
