No, it is Sania & Dodig vs Paes & Hingis!

There is always a temptation among the journos to sensationalize the headlines. For past few years, Paes’ insistence on most-deserving double partner had generated enough controversy with differing views expressed by Bhupathi, Sania and others. The heading, against that backdrop, is not fair. The correct position is that Sania Mirza and Ivan Dodig will now face Leander Paes and Martina Hingis. The more interesting part that Hingis partners both Indians has been overlooked!

Good News For Indian Tennis.......

....whichever way you look at it. Sania and Leander's consistent international presence must trigger well for funding of sportstars by corporates and institutional investors in popularising competitive tennis as a sport which can bring our players a lot of respect and fame they duly deserve for the risks they take with their 'livelihoods' in their initial stages. Both Sania and Leander have faced a lot of difficulties in their run up to the positions they command now.

Both deserve the awards the govt has bestowed on them. The rest of the awardees are some political lackeys.
