Will be remembered as the luckiest player ever. Not denying his obvious talent and style, but he was plain lucky I emerge in a period of zero competition, scooping up titles against various over the hill players. No doubt that if he had made his debut even 2-3 years late, he would have ended up with maximum 10 slams. He is definitely not the GOAT. His so-called records are skewed due to the lack of competition.

It can only be imagined, what would be his fate in his prime, if he had to contend with the likes of Murray, Nadal and Djokovic. Definitely not even ten slams.

Federer at 34, had a better h2h against Djokovic until this Aus Open... beating him consistently even in his non-prime years... Its 23-22 in favour of Djoko.. who has overtaken only now... but has overtaken Nadal who is only 29.

Fed, is 14-11 against Murray....

He has a one sided h2h only against Nadal, because of losing to him more during the last 6 years, when he was no longer in his prime... and losing majority matches on clay.

Calling Fed's prime years as lack of competition only stresses the greatness of Fed... when he made the entire field lack competition.

no, if Federer would have of Nadal/Novak age he would have ended up winning more than 20 slams and calendar slam as well. Till 2008 when he was 26/27 no competition for him from Nadal / Novak even when they where good to reach finals except for French open. I would say Novak is very lucky to have come at lower age than Fed and Nadal. He now has no competition until new Gen start. Had Murray improved his game even he could have won more than 10 slams

His style of play is getting exposed even by unseeded players... Now that he is out of his prime it will be seen how his game holds together... He will always be remembered as a competitor to Federer's greatest status... but now it has all fallen apart, with even Djokovic beating him as being a better player.

Federer is the greatest... for he stays No. 3 even at 34 yrs age... it can only be imagined how he would have played in his prime, when he stayed No. 1 for 237 consecutive weeks.
