I am really surprised at this mockery.The demand of players is so exhaustive that no Indian will fulfill.Why they were treated as heroes? I was a player and remember all my privileges were withdrawn when as students of DAV college in Ambala (1953) we were defeated by Punjab Police stalwarts.I could hardly reach up to nipple level of well fed & strong team.I remember no one gave me a lift(Bicycle) to my home.Are we required to pamper all teams?
I think, our Sports Minister made Indian Olympic Teams, to travel to Rio by Train, all the way & without Seats. They must have got tired and could not Win any Medals out of fatigue.
It is the responsibility of the manager for the Indian teams to arrange all these facility for the player. But sorry to say for them first priority comes to minister, govt officials and last priority for the sports person. Though all these official is forgetting that their journey is based on the participants taking part in various sports event. It is the mistake of players and being railway employee that with out ticket traveling is crime including any person of any rank.

Olympic Players are given best of facilities in other Countries. But in India, Olympic participants have to beg for everything (thats what we read in News) We have Cinema Actors & Cricketers (which is not in Olympics) as India's Representatives & Brand Ambassadors. What else can you expect.

Yes. Poor Hockey Players do not know that they can get seats paying Rs.100 or 200, because they were always made to travel by Bullock carts, for all competitions within the Country.
India is of Rich ,powerful,influential, ministers and bureaucrats , cricketers, movie actors and govt officers .. Rest are look upon as worst than a mosquito. This is hard reality . If nothing happens to anyone of these groups , it is fine and ok .
I think we are missing the point here. Sports has nothing to do with the inhumane treatment that railways official meted out to these Olympians. This shows the general mindset of people towards the SC/STs. What if the railway official mishandled it, where were the co-passengers and so called nationalist people who are willing to do anything in the name of religion and pseudo nationalism. Do you think that their behavior would have been same had they been from influential caste. This is how this country treats its own people and we think of becoming superpower.
The govt of the day should make sure that sports person participating in any sports events will need to have proper logistics and stay and training facilities for all events national or international till the last mile. There need to be an officer who needto take care of all the needs of the sports person representing our country
This is because they didn't get a medal.If they had got a medal, there would have been overreaction, they would have been treated like queens and showered with crores and crores of rupees !
