Almost all the promising players who were edged to state to winning gold did not even enter the quarter finals or entry levels. Rather blaming the windy conditions there. We need to send people who are actually well qualified rather than they having won medals elsewhere in recent tournaments. Identify ppl on merit rather than political as well as mgmt influence. Less number of people at the board level and more training facilities in each state for all sports and bring down the cost of training in shooting and other sports which are currently not reachable to the common man who are good but cannot support such high cost for training like even buying shoes and other equipment necessary.
Not only Shooting, we failed in all the sports miserably except some 4/5 individuals. Need to investigate what SAI is doing. More than 50% of its budget is spent on salaries. very little is spent on training and providing world class facilities to sportsmen. Also need to investigate what the officials were doing in Rio.
