Wrong traditions

I don't understand why respective States are giving cash awards to the winners. The Players represented India and not any specific state. It is central govt which should give awards to the winners.

Sports quota and cash awards will make them forget their sports
by rajesh venkatraman on Aug 24, 2016 06:03 PM

Most of the people entering sports are mainly to get into govt job or banking job from the sports quota rather than being educated to the hilt and being jobless or do work which is not in line with the subject of study till post graduation or higher.
Winning medals elsewhere doesnot fetch them these goodies, be it even in international events or at places where world team participates. Most of the sports people forget their sports once they get job or max after they complete 30 yrs of age, they settle in for the govt job or try toget on to better govt job with more medals or certification to their tally or sports within their sector like games played within the banking sector or railways which takes more people on sports quota.
