Before blaming Cricket think about this
by Inzy Bhai on Aug 22, 2016 06:29 AM

Cricket is played by 105 nations in the world but at the top competitive level only about 10 or 12 play it seriously. It is the sport with the second highest viewership of 2.5 Billion people across the world, the first being Football. Most of the viewers come from South Asia but wherever the diaspora of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or Sri Lankans are present Cricket viewership jumps. Cricket demands tremendous hand eye coordination & now with fitness becoming paramount one needs to be an athlete as well with high endurance levels. It is also one of the best organized sports in the world with a fairly sound administrative body. Further Cricket is a country led sport unlike Football or Soccer which is driven more by private clubs. We may crib about our cricketers earning a lot but it pales into insignificance when compared to Football, Golf or Tennis. So let us not debunk Cricket & maybe by 2020 or 2024 it may become an Olympic sport as well. Unfortunately the BCCI does not seem interested in promoting it at the Olympics or even at the Commonwealth or Asiad where it can gather more steam.

No cricket in China

Indians are actually not interested in real, true sports.

As long as there is cricket(played by 10 countries),the soap masala serial of sports,India is not going to shine in true sports.

what exactly are Indians interested in?

Philosophy, Sports, Music, Movies, Science ANYTHING?

NOTHING.

Except reading Ve3@s, sucking on Br@hm1ns and doing superstitions and doing non-important IT Work.

Useless

Better than arabs who still keep harems full of women and instigate muslims to kill kafirs

Haha....good to see a few in a miniscule category like you who will surface once in 4 years just to sound cool about supporting olymipians, a continegent of 200 odd people and returns of 2 medals! No wonder we celebrate cricketers who have brought so much glory and world cups to the nation. A billion of us will celebrate our cricket heroes, as we are sensible enough to know who our true heroes are and who are the people going to Rio just for sightseeing. You can be in that small group cheering these guys. Cheers!

People comparing Indians with Chinese?.

China sacrificed 20 crore people for the Revolution under the leadership of Maozedung.

China HAS NEVER BEEN DEFEATED except under Genghiz Khan in 4000 years of its history.

Chinese people are extremely intelligence race. Their IQ levels are way above world average.

Chinese people have immense self-respect.

Lets compare with Indians shall we?.

India sacrificed 2 years in jail for the so called independence. Most of the leaders were offered whiskey and women during the time they served. The so called Independence has only transferred power to the original crooks of India - the Br@hm1ns

India has been DEFEATED EVERY TIME it has been invaded. Except of 50-60 years under the Mauryan Empire and a certain period under the Delhi sultanates and Moghuls it has always been a free ride for anyone and everyone invading the country.

Indians are well among the lowest IQ's in the world. (perhaps worse than negroes).

Self-respect among Indians?. What is that?. You sell your daughters for 5 rupees and kill anyone and everyone. Your whole religious system (H1ndu1sm) is a joke.

So think 100000 times before you compare yourself with others.

That is why China is where it is today
by Parika Gupta on Aug 21, 2016 06:02 PM  | Hide replies

First they had stopped sending their team, after a poor show, for many many years nd themn made a resounding comeback.

Now no excuses, but saying "There are a few problems we cannot overlook. In the Rio Games we didn't win so many medals... we didn't assess objectively the challenges we might face at these Games,"

"In recent years more countries have attached importance to the Olympic Games, so the level of play internationally has come up and the competition has become fierce.
"We need to employ a new mentality and new understanding how to improve our performances and ability. We need more experiences and learning."

Krishna as per your comments,it appears that we are the fastest growing Olympic medal winning country in the world, much-much ahead of China. You are no different from the bogus talking ministers, who utter statistics which no one believes. Leave your pseudo nationalism, & realise the actuality of Olympic sports.
