Sreejesh sir you gave your 101% you saved many goals u have not disappointed anyone the match with Belgium was good in the 1st half but i dont know why in the 2nd half you all were playing defencive and that's why Belgium won. If India would have not played defencive so much India would have surely won medal. Sreejesh sir you gave your best.
Sreejesh can apologise. But the millions of Indians who watched the game were wondering why our team cannot attack while at all the time, Belgium was attacking. The sole manthra of the game is attack. It could be seen from the fact that we could not get any penalty corner as we were not any were in the opponents area.
First and FOREMOST -- Most sports in the world are TEAM SPORTS and teamwork is really very important.
The WHOLE idea of the team is selflessness and sacrifice and making sure that the team wins.
Just look at the Indian team playing EVEN for 5 minutes. The just dribble individually without caring for a moment about scoring the goal.
This selfish attitude is the story of Indians in Hockey or in Life as a whole.
This is the prime reason that they are failures in everything.
Look at Australia, Ned or Britain. They hardly keep the ball with each player for more than 2 seconds and they immediately pass it to their teammates inorder to score a goal.
Be Selfish at your own ruin.
Now dont give me the example of cricket. The game is a joke played only by royals in england.

Actually what do you mean? India cannot rise again in hockey?? Ban Cricket and all other sports will get a much improved talent pool. We dont have a sports culture instead we have a Tution culure

No team can win the match unless Penalty Corners are converted. The failures were (a) inability to score field goals, (b) inability to convert penalty corners, (c) inability to keep possession of ball to deny attack on own goal by rival team; and (d) inability to make man-to-man marking. As a former hockey player, I would request that the above deficiencies may be taken note of. Besides, let us train, from now on at least three players,as specialists, who practice conversion of penalty corners only, with variations, like hit, drag and push, besides practice to give a pass diagonally to one of of own players, to dodge the goalkeeper and defenders, etc.
Team played well. But needs upgrade to modern playing methods. Lot of practice n better techniques will help.. Olympice practice need special attention and special practice. Modi govt a Point a dynamic sports minister and a state minister or some good sports lover as Olympic developer!! Sure our boys can do better!!
Its time to accept that world has moved much ahead in Hockey. Even we jump 4 steps, world hockey teams move 8 steps. Most countries are ahead of us....
Lets not live in a fool's paradise and stop wasting money... one or two tournaments will not make a difference. We are now many many times behind other teams.....
