very much correct Dhantannan. India is not going to get a single medal this olympics... Very sad and frustrating.
just a hunch before the games began - that India may not match its performance in the London Olympics (2 silvers and 4 bronzes) - looks more and more likely to become a reality now !
It should not be a big surprise even if India wins just 1 medal or no medals at all !
That would be perfectly in keeping with what life really is in India for most commoners - the more things appear to change, the more they remain very much miserably the same !

piri... focus on development, try to bring wealth for people... lot of things will fall in place! Support this govt. and destroy the gandi family, once and for all! You will see lots of things have changed!

Stud....focus on theft, big time theft that goes in this country under both the Congress party and the BJP in the name of what people think is development !
Development ???
What is development ??
Diversion of state and natural wealth worth lakhs of crores of rupees for a pittance to private corporates ??
And the few thousand jobs that these big time thieves offer to commoners is worth those lakhs of crores of rupees that ought to have remained in public hands ??
Just what is the big difference between the Congress and the BJP in terms of this most important issue for commoners ??
The Congress abetted the diversion of state wealth to the Ambanis, the Thapars, the Mittals, the Vedantas (though a little less successfully owing to peoples action in the Niyamgiri hills)..........
And the BJP has abetted and continues to abet the diversion of state wealth to these same corporates in addition to the latest in the list of big time thieves - Gautam Adani !
Is this not the grim reality ?
Just what else is of any real relevance to the commoners ?

When Shobha De spoke the truths all the s/o/b*t*c*hs started shouting. The Indians really were there to take selfies. The total bla,e lies with this present government. No focus on infrastructure development. Funding thieves like Adanis. There are many Kalmadis in BJP. Congress was corrut but these guys are masters of corrution.

It is because we the mad Indians worship cricketers who have no contribution to the image of our country as a sports nation. cricket is a tamasha and not recognised internationally. We play cricket because we are not fit for other sports.

When one wins a medal he/she gets a bouquet from the crowd back at home and if one , by any chance, misses it, there are only brickbats. This is the typical attitude of many Indians. Those who watched Saina\'s match, may also have watched the match between Malaysia Vs japan in the women\'s singles in another group. How convincingly the Malaysian lady was leading against the japanese in the first game until the unfortunate injury to the former which made her dreams topsy- turvy. They are all human beings and not machines. This sort of cynicism would help only to discourage any potential sports persons in future and definitely not encourage. I think many of our medals which were missed by a whisker could be attributed to dearth of proper infrastructure and/or training.
