At such a big stage, pressure and expectation starts getting into you. Coaches should teach how to remain calm and not become nervous. Nevetheless Jitu has done India proud on other occassion. Well done...there are more Olympics to come.
reasons why Indian athletes invariably falter in the first round itself in major events such as the Olympics could be that they are often too overawed by the immensely superior levels of cleanliness and hygiene and general order in the Olympic cities compared to what they have seen all their lives back home in India !
And this applies in more or less equal measure to Olympic cities in still developing countries such as Brazil.
To overcome such awe during the initial days in Olympic cities, Indian athletes ought to be sent to the Olympics at least 4 or 5 months in advance (costs be damned) so that they become accustomed properly to such levels of hygiene and order !
