when some player favors his own interest than the country's interest then first of all he should be banned forever. bopanna asked favor for playing with someone else and not paes. that itself shows that he was not ready to play with paes. so he should be sacked permanently to show Indian players some discipline when it comes to playing for India. Paes is good and with time he should now gracefully retire and let others come forward in tennis. players should retire at their peaks not at their lows. paes is in medium form and so he should now retire and pave way for new players.
With events leading to Rio Olympics in Tennis it is not surprising that we are out of doubles in first round only. In such team events if the players do not share good rapport defeat is always on cards however good the players maybe. I think the tennis federation should have handled the matter in a much better manner. At end of day the nation has lost due to individual personality clashes and ego and inability of players to put national interests above their individual concerns.

Thanks to this selfish fellow Indian tennis has not developed. He has done nothing for the sport in India other than obstructing others from coming in & filling his space. Every Olympics he has created a problem for partnering with someone & has gone on to lose except in Atlanta where he won the Silver medal. Time he retired gracefully & magnanimously rather than claiming he will be there in Tokyo. Leander we don't want to see you in Tokyo. Just get lost man.

Many of our participants may not go beyond a second round and the contigent may return without any medals. But I wouldn't deride them

Yes, it is correct. Indian so called tennis players are below par. They are winning grand slam because of the other player, not because of their caibre. Sania is winning only because of Hingis and same is the case for Paes.

Not true. Sania and Martina are both excellent players and combine well. Please do not denigrate Sania
