Federer - greatest tennis player
by Michael on Oct 17, 2015 01:22 PM  | Hide replies

Federer is the GOAT... but Nadal fans will find it hard to accept because of Nadal's h2h records... but I want to ask one thing, are they ready with facts to claim that Nadal is the GOAT.... I'm sure it will be even more debatable than accepting Fed as the greatest tennis player.

Another thing is the weak era argument can't be accepted. Fed has been ranked higher even in this present era and his consistency is unmatched. Fed holds the record for most weeks as No. 1 and Nadal holds the record of most weeks as No. 2... If Nadal is a better player, then why can't he remain No. 1 in this present era for longer time. Even Djokovic with 169 weeks as No. 1 has overtaken Nadal's 141.

So the argument that Nadal is the greatest player will be disputed by many. I sincerely feel the greatness of the player is in the ranking as No.1, GS titles, over-all dominance of other players and all round achievements.

Weeks at no.1 is not a criteria to decide who is GOAT. Case dismissed.

You might sincerely feel many things, but your sincere feelings have no official sanction, meaning it is just your opinion, which, like the online polls and other opinions of nitwits liek rocky, are worthless.have a good day.

Using wife to distract opponents is also a criteria to decide greatness so Fede is GOAT...AHAHA loser Fede even cheats his countryman.

With 17 grand slams, 302 weeks as # 1, 6 world tour final titles, Federer is the greatest tennis player of all-time.

Nadal's record,
14 grand slams (lags Fed and will be beaten by even Djoko)
141 weeks as # 1 (lags Fed and even Djoko leads him with 168 weeks # 1)
0 tour titles (even Djoko has 4)
27 masters (will be overtaken by Djoko in a year's time)
Better H2H will also change against Djoko...

All in all Nadal will only be 3rd best in the present era itself.

Nadal will lose in the Shanghai final
by rocky on Oct 16, 2015 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

It might be another Djoko vs Nadal final in Shanghai and I predict Nadal will lose again... Nadal will never get the # 1 ranking again and will end with only 141 weeks as #1... the all time greatest player list will be lead by Fed with Djoko coming a close second.

rafa is going thro a slump now no doubt but his place in history is assured. His record at grandslams is still among the best. His game, his spirit, his raw power makes him a unique rockstar.Joko''s form this year is great, but to me he is more of a machine, his game lacks flair.Besides Rafa's one to one record against all his current rivals is still great-G.Muralidhar

Federer will never win a tennis match against Nadal again...so he will remain 23-10 down and will not have claim to title of GOAT .

Nadal is 5-6 against Davydenko and 0-2 against Dustin Brown and will never win a match against Djokovic again and the record might be 23-35 against Djokovic by the time both retire...
Federer doesn't have to have a h2h in his favour against all the players... he has the overall records and his claim to GOAT title is well accepted by the majority.
