Best player status

Djoko is clearly starting to lay claim for the greatest player title. His fitness level and stamina to prevail in best of 5 sets may help him to get past 17 GS titles, but until then Fed is the GOAT.

The other contender for the GOAT status, Nadal has clearly lost his way at the top. He couldn't win even a single world tour final, which with 1500 points is clearly bigger than the masters. Also Nadal's 27 masters tiltes is going to be beaten by Djoko, who has 26.

Nadal's career win % has also now fallen and he is now behind Borg, who holds the record in this category. Nadal looked like he will retire with the best career win % record, but now looks like Djoko will overtake him in this also.

Ho doubt he is a class apart. His tactical planning against each opponent coupled with killer determination and rock solid defence has taken him notch above his peers.rafa is clearly out of sync and his game gets blown apart by many guys with some simple strategy. But federer is still a threat even to Novak but big thing that separates them is mental toughness. federer gets overwhelmed by occasion against Novak especially in majors and that explains his defeats despite having a much better all court, any surface game and he can play equally well at net or from back. but his mental make up flags against Novak. To counter he must play fearless tennis that wawrinka plays and which makes him a tougher opponent to Novak in any match. My take is that its wawrinka who would dethrone novak big time coming months.

Wawrinka may beat Djokovic once in a while but he doesn't have the game to dethrone him. Wawrinka is 30, a time when players are considered to be out of their prime. Djoko may dominate for another couple of years and should break the records of Nadal and also have a shot at Fed's 17 GS titles and 302 weeks # 1. The greatest player of all-time will be a tug-of-war between Djoko and Fed.
