Nadal's playing style is such that he relies a lot on opponents UF errors and his own game has become defensive.... He does counter attacking but it seems to not work any more... He will be 29 next month and he might not enjoy the longevity like Federer.
Though Nadal has a lot of points to gain in the North American swing.. he won't be a challenge to Djoko's top ranking.
Looks like GOAT Fed's record of 17 GS titles will be safe for a long time.

Good analysis but one thing that disappoints me is that we haven't seen a new player emerge and take the tennis world by storm..it has been quite a long time..Women's tennis is even worse..tired of watching Serena,Sharapova... We need strong young players emerge to keep the interest in the game alive or else TENNIS WILL LOSE ITS CHARM AND VIEWERSHIP.

Rightly said, but tennis next generation is far from what I see. Given that Roger and Rafa are getting a bit weary, Djoker has the advantage over Murray. I would expect Djoker to win more slams, even more than Nadal may be.

Yes, even in the distant horizon there are no real talented players like the Big 4... Djoko can easily stay at the top for another 3 or even 4 yrs and he has chance of breaking Fed's 302 weeks #1 record.. though the 17 GS titles record can elude him.
For the past 10 yrs it has been only the Big 4 winning almost all the major titles... There are few youngsters like Kyrgios, Coric, Thiem but they have a far distance to go to becoming GS contenders... At present Nishikori, Raonic are in top 10 and they also don't seem to be real threat to Djoko's No.1 ranking.
