I guess awards should be and will be considered on the merit basis, but why she is crying that her name is not considered...there are lot of players who play selflessly and the passion to their sports and haven't even considered due to other reasons. One thing is that media should not publicize these kind of news as it will set a wrong precedent for the young sportspersons.

If Sachin Tendulkar is a Bharat Ratna as a great crickter which is played by 10 countries in the world, then SAINA should be nominated for Bharat Ratna Award, Ofcourse Sushil Kumar too is a genuine contender for his double olympic medels.
last govt of congress has grossly abused the award at every level. bharat ratan was given to sachin tendulkar was the biggest mistake of congress. if one look at giving bharat ratan from sports field, then first name can only for major dhayan chand from hockey and never ever sachin tendulkar.
award should be awarded without being applied and should not be begged and cried to get it.this must be understood very well by the govt who is giving the award and the players too. awards should come to the deserving players silently and as a surprise then only the excitement of getting the award is fullfilled. anyway ,to keep the importance of an award lies with the award giving authority and properly selecting the deserving players, not like sachin tendulkar for bharat ratan.
PADMA AWARDS AND BHARAT RATNA AWARDS SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO ANY SPORTSMAAN. THESE ARE THE AWARDS WHICH SHOULD BE ONLY FOR OUTSTANDING POLITICAL LEADERS AND STATESMEN.SPORTS PERSONS HAVE ALREADY THEIR UMPTEEN SPORTS AWARDS.
