i dont understand why people are going gaga over a doubles number one rating . she has martina hingis with her for crying out loud who was actually a singles number one , there is absolutely nothing of pride in a doubles ranking , pan me all you want , doubles has nothing impressive about it , on the other hand saina nehwal is a champion !!!

you can't understand cause u have a communal mindset! Any genuine sportsperson will tell you it is wrong to compare different sports/sportspersons - all are equally valued.

While its nice to know about Sania's exploits in doubles. But then she is partnering mostly the top ranked players as partners. i will give her credit if she takes a raw player from India and then win an international tournament. That will show her class - if she has one. Can anyone recollect her any important win in singles, like Leander Paes who has shown time and again what he can do - be it singles or doubles - whenever he plays for the country in Davis Cup.!

Why should she take a raw player from India? Leander had never took a raw player while playing doubles in any international level tournament. Davis cup is different.Because you have to take partner with a raw player as India don't have any other options. And for your kind information, Sania has also participated in federation cup (Davis Cup for women) with Raw players from India.
