First of all congrats to Gowda for winning a silver for us, though a gold was expected from him after his gold @ Glasgow 2014 CWG. However I need an enlighment fom friends, as to whether the 126 gold medals being shown against China's name, is the number of golds China has won from the inception of Asian games,or is it a figure pertaining to this Asiad. How can a single country win so many golds in an event, since sports super powers like Korea,Japan, & India are also participating.

From your name I presume you are from India's western state, which is the biggest laggard in sports in India, losing hockey & football matches by double digits margin. A state, whose citizens shy away from doing duties for the country(military & para military)i.e not opting to join defence forces. Therefore,I am not surprised that you cannot understand whether China's 126 golds are for this Asiad? Why will any event organiser ever emphasize on the cumulative golds won by a country? Anyway, you will not be able to get this in your head, because you have never put your feet on a sports field.

who said INDIA is SUPER POWER?
CHINA is THE ULTIMATE SUPER POWER!
they set high standards for other countries to follow. INDIA cannot b sports super power for many decades or centuries unless until all indians start encouraging sports other than CRICKET!

Rohit, to some extent Praveen is correct, because when the Indian contingent(medal winners)of CWG 2014, went to meet the current Sports minister, he had said that India had become a sports super power, because it had won medals in many disciplines like hockey, athletics, boxing, wrestling, shooting, squash, etc. The same tempo is again seen in Asiad 2014,though we are lagging behind small countries like Chinese Taipei, Thailand,North Korea,Iran,Qatar etc.,& not to talk of China,Korea,Japan.
