Sports should have strict code of conduct, if u want to wear all this wear it at home not when you go for sporting event. This is not religion but only a mind play by the Islamic to show the world that they are 1 when it comes to religion, nothing else matters to em, the world has to get together and tell these stone age people that this will not be allowed

Its horrible to see such controversies’

Which are not at all natural?

If god wanted women to be unattractive he/she would have made them bald or spiky

This arrangement is medieval arab world which was made to save women from getting snatched from their houses by other men, which was a common practice.

But now in the rule of law things are different and these practices should be discouraged or banned

Both are equally ridiculous..

It is too bad the women had to withdraw rather than represent their country. I don't know what annoys me more - that Muslim women have been told that they have to hide and cover themselves in order to be right with God, or that stupid FIBA is ridiculous enough to ban them since such is the case. I hate both.

I dont know, but can someone tell me if there is a passage/ a line/ a statement in the Koran that says the women even have to wear these head scarves? I think this is another inference changed and written by man and not God. It is the Muslim men who keep their women down, not God. If you took off the head scarves I think God would understand.

What if catholic basketball players start using a nun's headscarf/ hindu women use nose earrings or whatever/ African women observed their tribal religion by wearing no bra??

Play ball! Not politics! No whining in sports.

So next time they can say that the Sikh head gear also is an issue, or the case of allowing one can be raised. Why delve into this territory? Totally unnecessary.

Hijab or Veil

It should be optional because there are so many religions in this world and each one has certain limitations of their own community. Islamic culture is vary from other culture so let them be lived according to their customs and costumes, no ban should be made on hijab.

Sports is apart from reigion
by sen thamizh on Sep 27, 2014 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

Sports is apart from religion , race, color, creed. Why do u want to wear hijab and tell the world that you are a muslim. Sports is an arena to bring good name to ur country by showcasing your skills not just to wear hijab and tell the world that you are a religious country.
