We cant blame Yuki, he is not of that class to beat world class players. We need to improve the system to bring more players like Somdev and Leander paes who can beat anyone in the world.
Much better result than expected thanks to Leander-Bopanna inspiring doubles win.I was expecting 5-0 or a 1-4 result at best. Somdev did well to win the reverse singles. If only he had managed to win the first day then India could have qualified for world round. But given the quality India could not have gone beyond 1st round . So what is needed is producing better youngsters like Krishnans,Amritrajs,Leanders etc. I wonder if Rohan Bopanna could have play singles as he has booming serves. Why not try it out temporarily till such time some good youngsters come up.
Result is on expected lines. We cannot expect Yuki to win anything. He is only their to make up numbers. For us to win it was imperative that Somdev wins both singles and we win double. The moment we loose one of this 3 matches the result will go to other side

Paes could not have played the singles aswell to teach the young lot a lesson for how to play. Paes was at its epic best in his younger days winning against biggies of French, Australians, Croats are other big players. How can we forget about the bronze medal in Olympics.

Unfortunately Paes has no international ranking. His singles record is nothing to write home about. He is only good against minnows.
