Most of the times these are babus; having no technical information; and about Passport etc. for what purpose the Indian Embassy is sitting in S Korea. Deploy them for meeting and all help to sports person

How many medals???
by SUNDEEB NAIR on Sep 11, 2014 04:39 PM

A contingent of 679 members, will they even win 60 medals??? We should divert our resources to rescue & rehabilitation efforts in Kashmir. These managers should be deployed in Kashmir to help carry out the rescue work there.

I do understand where PMO is coming from. They want less managers in every government department to deliver effective results. However same rule cannot be applied to sports and other similar fields. These should not be treated as government machinery. In such large events its not just performance of athletes which wins game, it is also strategy and technicality of sport which makes difference.

As BCCI operates as separate body and makes its own decision according to need, other sports bodies should be separated from government control and given accountability to show their results.

Where one comes from? Gujarat is not known as a great sporting state. We have Gujarat model for India. There is nothing for Gujarat to learn from rest of India, just teach.

They probably know that sending an extra team of managers wont make any difference in the medal tally. So why waste time and money. Already there are close to 700 people in the team, much higher than most of other nations, and the win tally will be much less compared to these.

Great Work
by Vikash Singh on Sep 11, 2014 03:18 PM

We all know what Managers have been doing in these games. This guy is talking as if India wins huge amount of medals and they will loose if managers don't go. Indians have become smart that is why we have choosen NO Nonsense PM who will stop all non sense which was going since ages. By the way who is author and why he is concerned about managers. He is concerned about protest and all... what is need of protest in sports, we all know how many medals we win. So frustrated babus and managers, go and do some work.

Kudos to govt.
by Nilesh Rathi on Sep 11, 2014 02:46 PM

These babus need to be shown their place. They are not above players who actually represent India and win medal for us.
This money can be well spent on player's well being, food, amenities, etc.
Awesome.

these managers want to go on vacation
by brian crasto on Sep 11, 2014 01:41 PM

These managers want to enjoy abroad. They want to bring gifts to their friends and families. Good decision by the govt to curtail expenditure

Couple of sincere managers will do. No need to have multiple managers. It incurs cost to the ex-checker. We should concentrate on winning not managers

Way events are organized within the country, they (managers!!) are not required here as well.

Instead of supporting sport potential, these bodies are means to support babus and politician's favors

Is there a 1000 day plan even to get India more medals like China?
