Boss Leander can not act as pick and choose. Look @ Sania. she played some double tournment just 2 days before Asaid and won MEdal. Leander would have made too much noice had Bupathi there. If Bupathi there he would made noice and spoiled all chance.

Send Leander out

Paes has been consistent in winning the US Open (his III one) ever since he lost the finals along with Mahesh Bhupathi in 1997. He has been a finalist on four occasions. Paes has won total 53 doubles titles including 14 Grand Slams, Olympic bronze, Asian games gold, career slam in open era tennis, best singles ranking 73 and no 1 in doubles where players from almost all countries are there in a tight schedule & tough competition. He has an interesting Davis cup career also where he beat big names like Boetsch, Laconte, Ferreira, Ivanisevic & climbed up to Davis cup semifinal in 1993. He also beat world no 1 Sampras in singles. He has an ATP singles title also. Paes became only the second man (after Rod Laver) to win Wimbledon titles in three different decades. No other sportsperson of India has so many titles or achievement. The last one was his 14th Grand Slam which no Indian has achieved so far. Again, he has emulated Martina Navratilova by winning a Grand Slam after crossing 40 years of age.

I've lost count of the number of times I've seen Leander playing his heart out & giving more than 100% for India during Davis Cup ties. And the fact he is still playing top-notch doubles tennis at 40 shows his love and commitment for the game. If there is one contemporary sportsperson in India who truly deserves Bharat Rathna, it is Leander Paes.

He is, indeed, the true Bharat Rathna, whether they give him the official award or not.

Babus questioning his commitment is a

Criticising Sania MIrza
by vilas apte on Oct 31, 2014 09:46 AM

Paes,Bhupathi,Bopanna will be pardoned for their misdeeds, but we will criticize & question Sania Mirza's integrity, despite her winning golds for us in Asiad. All because of her marriage to a Paki, & because she is a M.

Leander is the best we have
by Ravi on Oct 31, 2014 07:11 AM

So lets show some respect to him.

I have seen Leander, Bhupathi and Boanna's games live on court few times.

Leander is the best we have for sure.He is a lot more aggressive and dominating the opponent as compared to Bhupu and Bopu.

It takes hundreds of good works to gain good name, but just one single bad work to gain bad name....Paes shouldn't had compromised on Asian games especially towards end of his career. But anyways, no questioning Paes commitment to the nation
