Good that he won the Masters title. Federer is a talented player.
However, what is the reason, somehow Nadal's name crops up everytime? Like this board, which has nothing to do with Nadal, but still he's mentioned in every post? Maybe the Federer fans can explain the reason?
It is a self defeating attempt anyway. By bringing Nadal into the equation, you always end up with egg on your faces.

Anuraug, didn't you say Federer is not going to win any more masters or slams..? and your life long wish has been fulfilled.. now we all know its you who has ended up with egg on the face. Federer is going to win many more and he is also likely to get the #1 ranking again.
Mentioning Djoko or Nadal in Fed's posts is common because of their rivalry... just like Fed gets mentioned in their posts.

More slams and masters???Unfortunately for you that isn't gonna happen Mike. Its not everytime that he gets a golden draw and Nadal withdraws.Even then he lost in straight sets to Cilic and couldn't put it past Djokovic on his supposedly favorite surface. Even in Shanghai, he had to save 5 match points against Mayer, and was a set down in both sets in the final against Simon.Agreed, he played excellent against Djoko but that isn't likely to happen everyday given his age and the increased competitiveness of the game. All these are facts, lets see you dispute any of them. So never count your eggs before theyre hatched.

Fed will win few more masters, if not slams and he isn't done yet... agreed slams will be more difficult considering his age.. but he can't be ruled out of wimby next year and other masters.
Even this year wimby Fed made it to the final and lost in close 5 sets, in USO he lost to Cilic who became the champion. He also made it to 3 other masters final this year. So, he still has got the game to give a fight to the top players and win. Don't foget Fed has the most wins this year and also against the top 10 players.

Simon was playing at his top level though he received medical timeout in the second set... the close tie-breaks are a ample proof.
Congrats to Federer for winning 23rd Masters title. Federer has a good chance of again making it to the #1 ranking, if he continues with his good form.
Next, Fed takes part in Basel where Nadal is also playing. This should be interesting with a in-form Fed being the faourite and should win against Nadal.

Why is that whenever Federer wins, there are reports that the opponent is sick, injured or tired? And also the opposition is weak, though he wins against the top three or four? Shame on these reporters.

Only rediff has reported that Simon was injured during the final... although its common for players to take medical timeout during play.. Nothing can be taken away from Federer's victory. Next if Federer beats Nadal, then they will say Nadal is having appendicitis. But Fed is playing in great form this year.

The media will report what is true.If Simon is injured then he is injured and they will report it. Shame on the blind fans who crib about everything.

Don't worry Mike, that question of saying Nadal has appendicitis wont arise because he will win anyway.
Appendicitis is not a simple condition and requires surgery. Still Nadal is trying to play. That is passion and commitment. Learn some class, instead of making lame statements here.

No. He lost to Lopez because of appendicitis. Even the previous tornaments he lost because he himself said he was rusty after a long lay off. Rathore, you are a great mouth piece of Nadal. Why dont you ask him for a job as his propaganda manager??!!

Thanks for your unsolicited advice once again Ramabhadran annamalai.Unfortunately cant say the same about you,you would make an awful spokesperson and would make Federer and his fans a laughing stock. You are better positioned anonymously behind a computer screen in total anonymity.

Simon was playing a waiting game of expecting the opponent to make the mistakes. Federer would have lost like he did against Wawrinka and Tsonga this year in masters. Fed was playing a high risk attacking game and won. He needs to convert on his break point chances more often and minimize his UF errors.
