Djokovic wins world tour finals
by mg on Nov 17, 2014 11:31 AM  | Hide replies

Federer did the right thing by quitting and not aggravating his back injury. Also there is Davis cup ahead. There is no point of playing when injured, losing and then saying the opponent played better when there is always the hidden excuse of injury. People don't like to see injured players struggling and taking medical time outs, just to finish the match. Hope Nadal learns from this episode.

People like to see players respecting the fans, and coming out to play and try their best, like Nadal did in the Aus Open final. There is no point of pulling out in the face of imminent defeat. Hope Federer learns from this episode.

Unfortunate that he got injured. He is a talented player. But it would have been better if there was a match and the fans got to see some tennis.Hopefully by the time the Australian Open begins next year, the worlds best two players (Nadal and Djokovic) are injury free and at their best, and the rest of the pack are injury free too.So we get to see the best tennis.

As per the present ranking, the two best players at the moment are Djoko and Fed.... Nadal trails Fed by approx. 3000 points... so there is a vast difference. Nadal may not even get to the #2 spot for more than a year or until Fed retires.

fedup fans...

Many of them mainly michael and ramadorkan had mocked at Nadals injury and suggested that he faked his injuries.By their own warped and twisted logic, it seems Fedup tanked the match to avoid getting mauled by Nole.

No one here has mocked about Nadal's injury. He continued to play even though injured and lost recently.... also at the AO final. He thought it would create some sympathy for him (it did, but only from Nadal fans) and people might say he is a fighter, so on... Even though he didn't give the injury excuse, it was clear he didn't play 100%.... Like Fed, he could have just quit without playing.. So, when other fans didn't show any sympathy towards the injured Nadal, you thought they are mocking him... but its not so.

Anuraug, FYI Federer already has beaten Djo 3 times this year with 3-2 record. So Federer would have definitely played if he was full fit.

WE call Nadal's injuries fake, because he quits when he is losing the match. Would not have he known before starting the match that he is not fit to play?

I do not think anybody has said such a thing. If Djo was in top form so was Federer.

Would have been the same result even if the final was played.
