How many of you know that he had pretty bad things to say about India during his playing days, commenting that India was a place where people caught all kinds of unusual diseases, and that he would never visit India ( he refused all invitations to play/visit India even though his contemporaries like Becker and Sampras came)?? Sorry for the interruption.Go on praising the man who hates your country so much.

Chill out dude. Stop reading out-of-context messages and work yourself up in a frenzy. Federer is a smooth operator, even if that is what he thought, he would not say that out loud. I am sure the quote has been taken out of context. Secondly, we are not electing him to be PM of india, just enjoying his work on tennis court.

I agree with you about what Edberg had said about India. I feel he was wrongly guided at that time. But we have to see the whole picture about how the foreigners look at India. But that notion would have changed now. These things apart as Jason says we enjoyed his work on tennis court and he deserves respect as a player. But now many tennis players will come to India for IPTL and champions tennis league... I'm sure even Edberg will also not mind coming to India now.

So please explain to jason bonehead about what edberg had said.I have a link but it is not allowing me to post it here, but his disparaging remarks about India are very plain and clear and there is no context needed.
Just gives enough confidence to say that nice people can be recognized and they can also be on top. Way to go Edberg (My favourite Tennis player) and Federer.
