penalise

Obviously referees cannot see what has happened in view of the tremendous diving and acting skills of players...the only solution is that the governing body should analyse each of such controversial instance and penalise the player concerned in terms of match ban or monetory penalty or both...

severe punishment

yes.. you must compulsory punish the diving players. atleast 4 match abn must be handed over for it. imagine the loss of the victimised team.

even the punishment must be given to referee also for induly siding the particular team or players just because they are famouse or well known. we HONOUR TRUE SPORTSMENSHIP.

It was clearly diving than Maxican fault.
These days, referees are doing more authotarrian than giving fair judgement. So we need to introduce technology n give proper training to all referees to avoid such sad outcome in future big matches !

the referees are very much to be blamed too and they also must be punished by cutting 75% of their officiating fees. referees are no saint.

Idiots stop this conversation. If you saw the match, you would know - he dived, yes but also the defender did tried to stop him by touching his legs. That was evindent. Also, in first half, two in two such incidents - both denied penalty, atleast one should have been!

Time has come FIFA should use technology for giving penalty kick atleast ,y'days dive was not genuine and they robbed the match from Mexico for no reason.

the maxican really played very very well. they desreved to be in Quarters. Roben is good in cheating. But the refereee gifted Netherland the Quarters.

More than the Players , whether Robben , Pepe , Suarez etc.s , the Main Referees are more at Fault atleast in this WC I have observed it time and again , and should be booked more than the Players for conveniently coming in way of the Game.
