While this is not take away any sheen out of the great win by Robben &co. but why not FIFA explore the introduction of automatic "Referral' system for award of penalty in every case.
The way Robben turned the match on its head only he could have done it given his commitment , grit and skill. Against all expectations Mexico were all over the Dutch with one Goal lead but it was Robben who never gave up with his relentless attacks on Mexican Goal that ultimately resulted in Wesley Sneijder lobbing in a late Goal ! Mexico is making too much of the penalty story to hide their real failure in reverting to a defensive mindset after a goal lead which in the end cost them the game.Even if the penalty had not been given Mexico would not have won at score line of 1-1 with the match going into extra time. Given the type of Robben led relentless attacks in the last 15-20 mints of the 2nd half the probability of Dutch going ahead was always higher. While one can’t help feel sorry for Mexico’s heartbreak but they must give due credit to Robben &co. that only a champion side like the Dutch having the self belief and wherewithal can make the type of comeback from the brink the way they did ! While Mexico played a great game to give a good account of themselves but they admit that they were beaten by a Champion side.
they didnt 'fire in' 2 goals. The penalty was dubious. Match could easily have gone to extra time and maybe even shoot out. Who knows the end result of that.
They consistently manage to do this..they did this to Brasil& Argentina in 2010..and now to Mexicans.. Extremely resilient & never backs down.. till 87th min they were 1 goal down and in 3 mins they fired 2 amazing Goals..Wow..that's Sheer Killer Instinct Man..!! Mexicans wont forget this for their life time..
