Instead of being ashamed that a country of 1.25 Billion people does not have a football team to compete in international matches let alone the World cup, here we are vicariously enjoying and celebrating the World Cup through the triumphs and tribulations of other teams from countries many times poorer than ours!

What is there to be ashamed? It's just a game which we like watching. There are many other problems in our country which should be taken seriously. If you hate Indians feel free to migrate somewhere else.

life's too short not to enjoy such moments mate.. take a step back and enjoy the spectacle.. being ashamed has got nothing to do with it.. sometimes we just have to accept that we are not good enough in soccer..

Great!
This is like saying that because you cannot have kids of your own; celebrate the achievements of your neighbor's kids because life is too short to be ashamed of your lack of potency!

What's shame in it. Indians are not genetically physically strong to play games like soccer, athletics, swimming etc and vast majority of population is impoverished and have malnutrition problems. Its just a fact.

Bang on Devendra! You know if there were 25-30 countries playing Cricket instead of the mere 9 (recognized) then probably the story would have been the same there too. Thanks
