so, looking at the group stage table, the asian teams(india, korea, malaysia) have been routed. india will play korea for the 9th-10th place , while malaysia will play south africa in a game that will determine 11th and dead-last place. even though the table sounds cruel and india couldn't finish in top-8 as walsh had hoped..still watching india's games, they weren't that bad..they tried their best and there is talent in the team, particularly midfielder sardar singh and the goalie sreejesh who are world class. having said that, i have no idea why one of world's best penalty corner specialists -- sandeep singh was ignored , his exclusion from the squad is even more glaring since india did not even score once from a dozen penalty corners they got..

The Coach for the Indian team probably did not want Sandeep Singh in the team. By excluding him, the coach who is a foreigner is accomplishing what he wants: namely making India lose.
Until and unless we have an Indian coach, the Indian team will not move forward.
Hiring foreign coaches is an absolute waste of money. What interest do they have in making India win? Think!!

..and apart from walsh, we have a certain oltmans too, the 'high performance director' .. playing for 7-8 pos would've been much better considering it would've fallen within walsh's expectations..but the reality is playing for 9-10..and it shows we're not among the top teams and a lot of work has to be done.

if they persist with raghunath/rupinder instead of sandeep then frankly the two have lot of work to do in the PC department..
