Nadal draws a blank at the ATP WTF
by mg on Jun 12, 2014 09:21 AM  | Hide replies

Why is Nadal not able to win a single ATP WTFs.. because its on hard courts and its a competition between the top 8 players of that year? The tourney has 1500 points to the winner, greater than the master's 1000. I don't think he will ever win it, unless they start playing it on clay.

For your information, Nadal was the most dominant player on hard courts last year and by the way, a player is judged by his exploits at the Grand Slams.

Federer vs Nadal at the GSs
by Anuraug Rathor on Jun 11, 2014 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

Take GS titles at each of the slams...

At Wimbledon >>>>>>>>>>> Fede 7 Nadal 2
USO >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fede 5 Nadal 2
FO >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fede 1 Nadal 9
AO >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fede 4 Nadal 1

So now its clear Nadal has only got more slams only at the FO.

Any one can win by fluke only once so its also clear that the win of Federer on clay GS is also a fluke

Fede is the GOAT of tennis. Nadal can never beat those record in his life time.

Also add the ATP WTFs, which is greater than the masters.... where Fede has 6 titles to Nadal's 0.

Fedex is the greatest, no doubt.

One of the greatest

The amount of running he does on the court from one flank to the other one to retrieve the ball is UNBELIEVABLE.
Never seen any other player doing that much of running.
I am sure that he will go past 17.

Nadal's game is such that he wont last beyond 30yrs of age. Wont be surprised if he retires in another 2 yrs time.

Although I was once a great Nadal fan, I have started to accept that Federer is the greatest of all time.... fitness being one of the criteria for that.

Thats too early to claim that. Yes Rafa is the greatest of all time clay court player, but other courts he just lags behind Fede and Djoko.

Fede is a hard court specialist who happened to win a few non hard GS that too when there was hardly any competition.

That was the greatness of Fede... he made the opposition look like non existent competition, in his prime.

But I must also add that with fading stars like Hewitt and Safin,Roddick,Nalbandian (even he gave so called GOAT a tough time) etc,Fede didn't need to do much to make the opposition look like non existent..they were indeed non existent. He never could make Nole,Murray or Rafa appear non existent could he?

What do you mean by he lags behind Djoko! Djoko's won 6 and Rafa 14. Rafa has 2 grass and Djoko 1. Rafa has 2 US titles and Djoko 1. All that Djoko has is 4 Aus whereas Rafa has 1. So, that makes him lagging behind Djoko on all non-clay court majors? Don't argue for the sake of arguing. With Federer I think they are quite close.

Minus FO (clay court), Fede has 16 GS titles, Djoko has 6 GSs and Rafa has only 5 GSs... so now I hope you understand that Nadal still lags behing them on other courts (grass and hard).

Minus Wimbeldon Rafa has 12 GS titles, Djoko has 5 GS and Fed has 10 GS, So now i hope you understand that Fed and Djok lag behind him in comparision

My argument was stated to stress the clay court dominance of Nadal... by the way Fede has more slam titles at hard courts (AO and USO) and at wimbledon compared to Nadal.

Nadal only leads at FO compared to Fede.

Minus hard courts Nadal has 11,Federer 8 and Djoko 1.
Rafa is GOAT.Fedwrer is hard court specialist who managed to win a few GSs on non hard surfaces.

But we must also consider that Federer has played 5 years more on the tour, and most of it against non existent competition.Oh this is tot confusing...lets leave aside the logic and just say it for the heck of it..FEDE IS GOAT.

Krishnan (called Ramanathan Krishnan) is Ramesh's father. He was world no. 3 in 1961-62. There were three great Aussies then - Ken Rosewall, Rod Laver and Roy Emerson. Krishnan was in between them as the world no. 3 and he made it twice to Wimbledon SF in 1961 and 1962 and each time lost to the eventual champion.
