Did Messi deserve it??

Definitely not!! It should, no doubt, have gone to Rodriguez.......
Messi was simply mediocre in the semifinal and the final......

Messi was a total failure who cant score any goals in the semi final or final. The columbian player Rodrigues fully deserve the Folden Ball as he played comparatively less matches than Messi.

Why Messi?
by AMandal on Jul 15, 2014 06:51 PM

What alone Messi can do when he don't have any supporting striker who can score goals? Can u count apart from Messi & DiMaria who scored for Argentina? So it is foolosh to blame Messi.

Everything is in the hand of G*d.
by monojit b on Jul 15, 2014 05:15 PM

So Messi messed up. So what! Not everybody has the hand of G*d. He is still a great footballer. Many others from both sides also failed to shoot into the net in the final after gaining favourable position.
If Argentina had won, I wonder if Maradona would still have the same views.

Cover up
by Rahul Khan on Jul 15, 2014 02:32 PM  | Hide replies

The golden ball award to Messi for the best payer of tournament was only a sort of cover up for the unfair decision to call Argentine forward Mr. Hugain Off side when he had scored the goal in the German penalty box.

Why Argentina Lost ?

Although Messi is a world class player, he never went beyond mid field to get the ball unlike Brasil's Neymer, Germany's Muller Holland's Rubeen or Columbia's James. He relied on his forwards to feed him and that made the difference. Germans as a team performed as a well oiled machine, complete understanding between and superb confidence and PRIDE.
