The Argentine team lead by Messi started the 2014 world cup campaign in a diffident and hesistant note in their group league matches with just some one goal difference victories. Their finishing near the goal post always was suspect and woefully wanting depending heavily on their captains left foot kicks to get to the back of the net. Then, in the round of sixteen, quarter and semi finals with some handful of field goal performance, the rest of their wins in Quarter and semifinals were thru penalty kicks, indicating lack of finishing near the goal line, which is unlike Argentine play.This time around, unlike past, they had good defense and goal keeping.
You don't deserve to win a World cup title if you don't score in the final. Germany scored and hence they are deserving winners.
Argentina played too defensively and too rough for their own good. When your agenda is to only injure the opponent players, then you cannot think positive and you cannot score.

Injuring opponent players became the norm for these Argentina right from the days of Maradona. They were punished rightly for their lack of sportsmanship.

Congratulations o the German team who played wonderful football through out the tournament. They really deserved it. They could not perform their best against Messi and his men but they were the best team of the tournament.
