whatever the result was but its nice that the match didnt go to the penalties..as winning the penalties like lucky draw game. Both played nicely but luck favoured the germans as the south americans made many attempts.

Actually South Americans made no attempts. Not a single shot wss on goal for Argentina in 120 minutes of play including the 3 one on ones with GK.

Well I guess they have dug out a couple of weak shots on goal for Argies. I didn't see Neuer do anything.
Argentina played better than Germany, but could not translate it to goals. They missed 3 fabulous chances, where they were with the ball in front of the German goalkeeper. Luck will favor you only so much.

Not one shot on target in 120 minutes of play is bad football no matter the omen. Especially bad from Higuain, Palacio and especially Messi.

if u watch the match closely than whenever messi was heading for the goal there was no argentinian player besides him to cover up, all german player surround messi in penalty area so i feel it's the fault of argentanian other player

Why did Aguero replace Lavezzi? At least Lavezzi was making the runs all first half.
Aguero did absolutely nothing.
But frankly if you don't score an open field goal in 300 plus minutes of football(since Di Maria went out versus Belgium) you will not win the world cup and Messi led Argentina did not.

messi was quick but no support of other player in penalty area.

I guess they have dug up a couple of weak touches on goal and a clearance off the line by Boateng??? Whatever...

Despite today's result, if there's been one player who almost single-handedly took his team to the finals, it'd be Messi. He'd probably have to wait for the coveted cup.

If there is one player who single handedly "won" the world cup - it was Diego Armando Maradona.
And still since Maradona retired Argentina have won "Nothing" with or without Messi or anyone else.

Maradona must have been great & for some reason Messi hasn't been able to click when playing for the country despite his talent. Maybe they need a bit of luck & few others in the team to convert better.

Just for reference I think Maradona scored or assisted 10 of Argentina's 14 goals in the 1986 world cup.
It is hard to score in International soccer compared to club soccer. A Ron Vlaar or Jerome Boateng or Mascherano play much harder for their country than for their club.

Must be so. Messi did create opportunities n even scored against the Dutch n few other teams. Guess he needed to prepare better for the final showdown.
Yes, probably WC is tougher than club games coz ur talent pool from which u can choose shrinks to the nation. I do hope he proves himself in the WC going forward. He still has a long career before him.
