It is very obvious yesterday's 7-1 drubbing of Brazil by Germany has affected the natural game. The very thought of facing GER perhaps was intimidating forcing both sides to be cautious and did not dare to be adventures. Perhaps both the sides preferred to play out a draw and leave it to the fate of penalty shootout to decide the challenger of GER.Both Messi and Robben from whom expectations were high were rather subdued and played a low key game. Now that ARG is in final it remains to be seen if Messi is able to replicate a la Maradona act for ARG and get on equal footing with his national legend. However given the circumstances and the going by the trends of games witnessed so far Messi seems to be having a much tougher task in hand to be marked and incapacitated by the efficient GER m/c for sure. As things stand ARG’s chances look slim.

You seem to have a very shallow appreciation of the finer aspects of the game. First of all, 7-1 scoreline is once in 30/40 years. Rest assured, that if Brazil and Germany play again, it will be very very close. The dividing line between top teams is very very slight. If that were not the case, Germany would have won everything in sight by now.
Germany, for your info, has NOT won the European championships for 18 years now. they have not won the WC for 24 years now. So, no team is a pushover. Brazil had a horrible horrible day.
Secondly, Argentina is not brazil. they are very tenacious, resilient and patient.
So, it will be great contest between two equally gifted teams. Pls don't write some nonsense here and don't get carried awy by emotions.
I'am a great Argentine supporter but i can say that yesterday Netherlands and Argentina were both equally good. It is just the greatness of Romero and plain old luck thAT were with Argies. So, wait for the final and then we will see. It is an honor for Argentina to play against great rivals Germany.

Am0d I would but very much differ to agree with you that Germany and Argentina are equally Gifted in fact Germany are no match for Argentina when it comes to Forwards there are no Forwards in Germany or in German Team who can match the class of Aguero,Lavezzi,Higuian who are all leading strikers of the teams world over and not forgetting TAVEZ WHO IS NOT EVEN INCLUDED IN THIS Argentinian Team.Again when it comes to Midfield you acn hardly say this is the Best Midfield lineup from Argentina representing them in this cup with players of the caliber of Javier Pastore PSG,Pablo Piatti Valencia,Nicolas Gaitan Benefica,Andreas De Allesandro Internacional the Classy and experienced Pablo AImar etc etc have been not inluded in this team for reasons known only to Coach Sabella. But in terms of DEfence i think this might be the best available players in Argentina in the current Squad. If Argentina had Included atleast 2 players i mentioned i don't think Messi would have to shoulder so much burden in this campaign however it is indeed a surprise and a point to salute the resolve of the current squad that inspite of all these factors they have managed to reach the Finals.
Hearty Congratulation to Argentina for reaching the Final clash with Germany to win the FIFA World Cup 2014. It would be really a tough affair for them to win the summit clash because Germany is a better team than Netherlands with their outstanding and inform strikers, better defense and superb goal keeping. I wish, Argentina all the best and hope, they will survive their ultimate test too.

Did not expect his type of mistake from rediff.Whole world is watching it so be careful---Goalkeeper Sergio Romero pulled off two stunning saves as Argentina edged out the Netherlands 4-2 in the penalty shootout in a grinding semi-final match to set up a World Cup summit clash against Germany in Sao Paulo.
The second semi-final between the two heavyweight teams ended scoreless in the regulation 90 minutes and 30 minutes of extra time and its result had to be decided via penalty shootout.
Captain Lionel Messi, Ezequiel Garay, Sergio Aguero and Maxi Rodriguez scored for Argentina while only Arjen Robben and Dirk Kuyt could found the target for the Netherlands.
