Switching Of Vs Expectations
by Adarsh Deshmukh on Jul 10, 2014 01:16 PM

The "Switching off" triggered by two quick goals in the first few minutes of starting made the Brazilian team shell shocked due to burden of high expectations from their home crowd.

From the first match of WC 2014, Brazil exposed their weakness & it was just matter of time the team was humiliated.

Worst perfomance by Brazil. Its seems that the germans were practising with them. The way they lose it was a shock to many foot ball fans all the world other than brazilians. Brazil could never make it to the finals after they lost to France ten years back. It seems that Eurpoean teams are dominating the show since France won. One may expect Germany to win the final

Brazil-Flop show.

RUBBISH. From 1st game Brazil was not upto the mark. Referee sided them in their 1st outing. There was no doubt that Germany would win last night but this big margin was not expected. Not to deprive Germany of their win bec they played superbly. Won't be surprised if they lift the cup on 13th. It'll be interesting if Brazil can atleast win the 3rd place which is doubtful, or atmost may scrape thro' with a slender margin. Brazil was overrated & I'm glad they were KO last night. Germany definitely deserved to win.

Brazil will move on...
by J ADITYA on Jul 09, 2014 03:21 PM  | Hide replies

I was supporting Germany but after first 3 goals I realized it was going to be one way traffic. I really feel bad for Brazilian fans. They should have atleast Kaka playing in this WC, that would reduced some pressure from Neymar. Now they need clean the team including the coach, they should keep Neymar, Oscar and Hulk and find new players and make a new resurgent Brazil team, they should make Ronaldo as coach for long term. He will be perfect coach, young, energetic, knows football and more importantly has earned huge respect. One thing I can say, in 2018 world cup in Russia, Brazil will be really a mean team.

In cricket oftens one loss by 6 wickts or 7 wickts or even 10 wickts. so in football if loss by 7 goals why big deal ? happen in sport.

its equivalent to a top team getting bowled out for 50 twice in test ..and the other team scoring 500-2

No comparision between Cricket and Football. It is a humiliating defeat by any standards and 7-1 is a whopping difference.Great expectations on Brazil fail miserably

No. I am one of the many ardent fans of Brazil in India. It happened after watching Giants of Brazil in a movie many many years ago and watching Pele, Garinchha, Didi, Vava, Zico, Socrates, Falcao, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, etc on TV. Brazil epitomized the way 'Beautiful Game' should be played. But this Brazilian team is the worst ever i have seen from the time (1982) i started watching World Cup on TV. None of the players have the skill, quality and ability that we associated with Samba style of football. I knew Brazil would lose against Germany, after their performances in the previous games, but never thought the score would be 7-1. Neymar, he is just a good player, not at the level of Ronaldo, forget about comparing with Messi. The latter is far ahead in skills. Neymar cannot even dribble past in 2-to-1 situations. He needs lot to learn before he can become the best player. Scolari should also take the blame due to its poor 23 men team selection and tactics adopted. I opine that it would take at least 10-12 years for Brazil to regain its lost glory and it would only happen if they change the coach and focus on identifying and nurturing local talent. Germany did that over the last 10-12 years and we can all see the result. The world cannot let die the Samba way of football.

I'm afraid, but the fact is otherwise.. Brazil's defense crumbled under pressure. Neymar's absence dented their psyche. Their captain Thiago silva was absent too..

Oscar and Neymar along with other mid-fielders, hunt in pairs. Selfless Oscar creates lots of chances to Neymar who puts it accurately into the net..

Their attack depleted, their defense came under huge pressure and Germans cashed in on..

Scolari was responsible for making Neymar as center forward.. It was sheer bad luck.

I personally don't support any teams but whoever plays well should win the tournament..

yes, their defense was very bad. brazil had lot of possession in game and they did get the ball to german goal many times. but whenever the germans got the ball to goal ,they scored.
The brazilians not prepared for problem like neymar and silva, but germans well prepared for key players not playing
