BRAZIL SHOULD WAKE UP FOR NEXT WC
by ARUN NAYAK on Jul 09, 2014 09:09 PM

Remember that it was just a bad day for brazil...its like India getting beaten by Bangladesh in the west indies during 2007 world cup cricket .... but india won world cup after that..in 2011...so dejected/shocked fans must believe that it was not their day....and should congratulate the best team played the game in best spirits !

BRAZIL IS A 2ND RATE SIDE AND NOT A CHAMPION AS PROJECTED
by damodaran mohan on Jul 09, 2014 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

Catastrophe..carnage..disaster..shell shocked...and many more negative words are being trotted out ….people are just bewildered unable to explain the unexpected tragedy that has struck the Brazilian nation in a national celebrating mood confident of winning the biggest sporting trophy of the world ! That way it is a let down of cartastrophic proportions that is going to linger for decades now. Scolari who had taken on himself to make the nation forget the 1950 Marcan football tragedy has ironically seems to have achieved it not by winning the WC but by bringing a much bigger loss that will overshadow to forget the 1950 tragedy. What Scolari attempted was virtually “building castle in air” by projecting a 2nd rate Brazilian football side as a champion side capable of winning the WC that was no where near capable of competing with the best in the world. Hosting the WC event coupled with political compulsions of impending elections must have lured him into a unrealistic overdrive of hype and exaggeration of ability of his side that has now stumped and brought grief to the nation. Fact of the matter is but for a bit of luck Brazil should have exited in round of 16 itself and neither it had credible performances in the group stages! In fact among the 32 teams based on the WC performances Brazil must be ranking somewhere around 24-25th fairing barely above half a dozen countries like camaroon,S.Korea,Australia,Honadarus,Equador.. etc. If Brazil

(contd.)... If Brazil had managed to reach upto Semis it was because the fixture somehow facilitated easy rounds on the way compared to most of the sides. ! Scolari has to take responsibility for the deception of not going about his job in an honest fashion keeping it just a game of sports of winning and losing.

too much pressure and expectation

Brazil were too young, germans were more experienced and many are playing 2-3 worldcup mathces. Brazil teammates look like under 19 and neymar was no excuse, they will be a good team in near future

It is sport- take it sportively.

There is no doubt that the loss is too heavy for a team like Brazil but it has lost to a better organised side. Dependence on one or two player is risky as Brazil experienced in the absence of Neyimer. Wish good luck next time.

Wrong!

Brazil lost because it did not "study" how India won the 2011 One Day International World Cup by exploiting "home ground advantage"!

India's 2011 triumph should be a lesson to all countries hosting an international sports tournament and expecting to win it!

Brazil was very enthusiastic to join the BRICS group....now it is playing football like other BRICS countries... India could have also done a 7-1 against Germany
