Everything is fair in love and game. He played the mind game to disturb the penalty shooters which was within the rule of the game and referee also didnt object against his tactics. It was a master stroke from Netherlands manager to bring in kruel just one minute before penalty shootout as a substitute which ultimately paid handsome dividend. Football is the game where at the tournament like world cup only foot work and play only do not matter, The mindgame also plays the important role. Costa Ricas manager was laughing when the match went to penalty shootout but ultimately Vaan Gaal and the Netherlands team had the last laugh.

The referee also didn't object when a Colombian kicked Neymar in the back and fractured a vertebra, so everything is fair, yeah!

It is their normal behavior. Many people find them rude in their first encounters.

Sledging is common in cricket. Big deal here

Considering that players trip each other up and even break their bones (Neymar), this trash talk is nothing.
