Sochi Games: Independent Indians march under Olympic flag

I was fortunate to see the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics which was a brilliant show put up by the Russians. Kudos to them.

Unfortunately, had to hang my head in shame, when it came to the three athletes representing India. Sad to see them under the Olympic flag rather than our own Tricolor. The most depressing part was when the commentator announced that India was barred from the International Olympic Association since the President was caught in a corruption scandal, and that the three athletes very participating in the individual capacity. . This is how we treat our country? The world knows the level of corruption in India, but letting it out on such a large stage is truly pathetic for the country.

Strangely, the culprits are still fee and roaming around with the least care in the world. Let us wake up my dear countrymen and women.

Indian Olympic Association was dismissed due to commonwealth scam in Dec 12 and imprisonment of Mr. Suresh Kalmadi. Even a new president was appointed but was suspended by International Olympic Committee due to alleged involvement in scam and political interference in selection of IOC members. PM and opposition are equally responsible for not doing needful in 1 yr. time as PM is the head of IOA.

Quite surprising no media, political party, current & former players, NGOs have made a hue and cry on this. This is a national shame. Appeared just as a news item and then died away
