Federer had been making it to the finals a few times this year but was missing it on the title.... this cincinnati title should boost his confidence going into the US Open, where he is now a favorite.
With Nadal still uncertain of making it to the US Open, Fede has a good chance of getting to the # 2 ranking in the year end.

I guess so. Novak after marriage has not been able to play his best. Murray appears vulnerable on any court other than Wimbledon. Nadal is unlikely to play. So many things in favor of Roger winning the US open. But he needs to watch out for one Tsonga who has playing brilliant tennis.

Nole might not make it to the finals. His form is arguably low. This year US Open is going to be the best chance for Federer to win his 18th GS title.
