The 7543-10/20/30 scale rates Nadal wayyyyy above Federer , Sampras , Agassi and almost anybody else you can name in the open era.Rafael Nadal the greatest of all time.
I think pete sampras is better than fedex. leaving clay courts apart if look into the finer aspects of the game sampras scores above fedex. Sampras has incredible serve which he follows it up super volley and his ability to serve aces in crunch situation, he is equally good in baseline game and rally matches with agassi proves that. his running down the forehand and backhand shots brought a complete change to the game of tennis. Fedex is very weak in volleying even though his serve is better but not better than sampras. if fedex had serve and volley weapon like sampras he would end his career with 25 grand slam titles and with the serve and volley games like sampras he would have all his matches against nadal very easily. i rate sampras just slightly above fedex. fedex is touch ahead of sampras as far as the consistency in the grand slams over the years is concerned. just slight marging seperates the two great players

A 19 year old Fed beat defending champ Sampras while serve and volleying at Wimbledon in 2001. So give the "Sampras is better" a rest.

Sergiy Stakhovsky defeated fedex in second round of wimbeldon 2013. does that mean Sergiy Stakhovsky is a better player than fedex. sampras is slightly above the rest.

Ever since he was 19,Nadal has been beating Fed,everywhere.So give the 'Fed is GOAT' a rest,NashikGhati.
I do not think Federer is greater than Sampras. You have to keep in mind that Sampras won 14 grand slams in an era played by the greats like Ivan Lendl, Borris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Micheal Stich, Pat Rafter, Goran Ivanesevic etc. All these were Grand slam winnners with more than 50 ATP titles to their name. Federer started competing in an era where all the greats retired or where in their exit phase leaving only minnows. Out of the 17 titles he had, more than 12 of them were before Rafael Nadal or Dokovic became a force. Even his only clay court victory was a one of lottery that he received when Nadal was out injured.
Its often said that you cant compare players of different eras.I would like to limit myself by comparing some of the greats discussed in the forum.Sampras was one amazing player.Fedex is no doubt the GOAT.Nadal & Djokovic also add color to the canvas(Tennis).In so far Federer's GOAT status is concerned ,he would always have to live the with the fact that Nadal was his true Nemesis(just check H2H record).Some food for thought for fedex fans....
