Yes of course, consistent in semis or finals. He was world No. 1 for 4 years. And he had to contend Borg, Connors and McEnroe first and then Wilander, Becker and Edberg. He was very hardworking to compensate for lack of natural talent. But sadly the Western Media never gave him his due and always projected players like Becker and Edberg ahead of Lendl. He lost two Wimbledon finals and the 2nd time he had a great chance, as he had beaten Edberg in the semis only to lose to Pat Cash in the final.
