inhuman working conditions
by crusader on Oct 15, 2013 06:01 PM

Most Arab countries have in-human working conditions for labourers behind the glitz and glamour of the high rises and swanky cars. These workers have to toil 12-14 hrs daily to earn approx 700-800 dirhams/rials per month or lower.
However these are the very workers who refuse to work in their own countries on similar jobs as they consider it below their dignity to do menial jobs. Malayalees ( keralites) who gladly do menial jobs in the gulf are the best example of labourers who refuse to work on road projects or labour intensive work in their own backyard even when paid handsomely or better than their gulf counterparts for similar jobs.Nepalese are hardworking and usually have no qualms about working in tough conditions for a living, however they are sadly exploited like slaves in these gulf countries. Its heart wrenching/pathetic if you see their living conditions in their labour camps ...The Middle East human rights record is as primitive as their culture when compared with the humane west.
