simply becoz sachin has withstood 100 times more pressure to perform than anand has in his career...and also Sachin has endured for 24 yrs in a physical sport with all risk of injuries etc...whereas anand mainly has to use his brains primarily..
To sustain oneself over such a long that too in a game requiring more mental faculty, is itself thunderous. Superb is Anand, none to be equated with him. He stands taller than Sachin no doubt.

You are staying in fool's paradise.. wake up India might have produced many good cricketers, but no Chess player like Vishy..
Anands performance is unparalleld. He has excelled in a game played by citizens of all countries including the sports super powers like US China Germany and Japan and not just a few commonwealth countries.
though Crickets' fan following bring Sachin more into the news...
I dont see a need for a debate on who is the precious of the lot... Anand, Sachin, Leander, Milkha Singh, ... all have made India Proud and we are quite happy about it...
Anand is truly the best sportsperson India has ever produced. It is all the more commendable considering that he did not have any institutional support. His achievements have not got the recognition they deserve due to the fact that he is extremely humble and low profile. Hats off, Anand.... you are the greatest.
Hi - when a person don't not stay in country then why should he be awarded as like / compared with Sachin who till date shown his commitment towards his gesture, approach (even the projecting the India Flag on his helmet) through out his career.

I'd urge you to speak with some reason. If a person represents a country & has been doing so since so many years & his achievements are usurped & celebrated by the country as their own, then it doesn't matter where he lives but which country he represents & how much he achieves doing that.
It's another matter that Sachin is the greatest batsman ever & we are equally proud of him. But that shouldn't take away from the fact that Vishi is in the same league , no matter if grandmasters don't get to wear head-gears of their flags on it or not.

Anand trains in Spain because of better infrastructure and chess tournaments and league in Europe. He would not improve to the present level if he trained in India.
The same quality infrastructure in India is available only for cricket, even though it is not a world sport.
