Sans the defense, it was really good to see a marked change in the outlook of the Indian team in the recent matches. Indian stick work has always been the best in world (along with Pakistan's). Combination of this with speed and teamwork can really get India back its lost position. Though the scorelines might not exactly reflect the way the team played (and defense alone can take credit for it!; there again, Sreejesh has been excellent at the goal)in each match, I am sure Indian hockey is going to see much brighter days in the near future.

I DO AGREE. ALSO THE COMMENTATOR WAS TELLING MINIMUM 6 TO 8 YEARS PATIENCE IS REQUIRED TO REACH TOP POSITION. HOPEFULLY "WE" WILL HAVE PATIENCE.
WE CAN SEE THE MATCH AS "HALL FULL AND HALL VACANT". THE SPEED OF EUROPEANS ARE DEADLY AND KIWIS ARE 6TH RANKED, WHEREAS INDIANS ARE 11TH. TO COME TO THE TERMS TO THAT LEVEL WILL TAKE TIME AND AT THE SAME TIME WE SHOULD NOT SIT QUIETLY. HENCE, IT CAN BE CONCLUDED THAT NOT A BAD DISPALY, HOWEVER, A WIN WOULD HAVE BEEN SWEETER.
